    That stretch of 15 is not actually that bad since they widened the shoulders. It wouldn’t be my first choice to loiter and enjoy the scenery, but it’s passable to get from point A to point B. Don’t go much past whites ferry road on 15, though, as the shoulders turn into ballast gravel and the average speed is like 65MPH.

    I think 15 was widened specifically because of the lack of viable options.

    Yeah, I don’t really find it that bad. The shoulders are generous. Its not scenic or anything (and there always seems to be a bastard of a headwind heading into Leesburg) but its not scary dangerous.

    I’ve been on worse :)

    Only problem heading towards Leesburg is threading your way through the huge rumble strips (but at least they separate you from traffic) and it can be a little dirty so watch your tires. I wouldn’t head south from the turnoff for Whites Ferry on a bet.
