“Every year, the National Zoo puts on a special show. For Zoo Lights, they decorate and light up the park– and stay open well past when it turns dark. The crafted displays are pretty spectacular and serve well to light up even the dreariest of spirits.
“Make sure to adorn yourself or your bike with festive lights and join us for a pleasant ride through the city and set forth on an Holiday Safari Ride adventure to the Zoo. Upon arrival, we will dismount our bikes and lock them up so that we can go for a stroll on the illuminated grounds. We’ll wander by the many beasts– both wild and styled (including glistening topiaries and sculptures).
“After our safari, we’ll return to BicycleSPACE to enjoy hot chocolate and other treats appropriate for a winter evening. We ask that everyone bring a small wrapped gift ($10 or less) that we can all swap as part of a White Elephant gift exchange. There will also be plenty of opportunity to take on our Yule Log Splinter Sprint Challenge to culiminate a week’s worth of competition for some great prizes.
“Our event should be a great way to celebrate the winter season and show off some holiday cheer. Please register so we can know how many people to expect, and consider RSVP’ing to our facebook invite so you can share with friends.
