Love the messages! Especially the talk bubble from the cycling guy. I might have to do a few myself sometime.

Does anyone know where the stenciled messages come from? There’s a bunch in DC, and at least a few at the intersection of the Custis and Ft. Meyer Dr. The one there says “Make us bicyclists look good,” reminding people to follow the traffic light there.

The others in DC range from friendly ettiquite reminders to silly smile generators.

Ah yes, another moment in the life of What Would Pete Do! Thanks Pete for always taking the high road and I don’t just mean hills. ;)

The “They make you strong” has been cracking me up. It hits me on my morning commute when I mentally say, “I just climbed up Rosalyn, and that Corkscrew, why is there a third damn hill?” I look down, read, and quietly say, “oh” . My own personal Bo tree moment.

Just remember, there are those who will consider this defacement of public property (which is sort of ironic since one of the messages is make us cyclists look good). Coming down the Custis to the MVT this morning, the amount of graffiti has gotten a bit heavy. Apparently there was a purple duck tape course this weekend. And Karen had a good run. And you were suppose to turn around near Lyon Village, which was also mile 10 for another race. And last weekend was the green splotch race that went thru Arl leaving green I guess chalk splotches everywhere.

wait, what? it’s chalk. I didn’t realize my kids were defacing the sidewalks whilst playing with something that washes off the first time it rains.
