    Very, very cool. But incomplete.

It’s missing a Madsen, a strider bike, this tandem and this folding bike.

    What else?

I don’t know if this qualifies as a bike. If so, then it could be added (on one of the failed bike evolution lines).

A Pedersen, a Moulton, the TREK Y-FOIL and, most puzzlingly, a standard 26″ mountain bike.

And a number of the evolutionary relationships between models are … curious.

I think those are in the lower left hand corner. Also, for those posting pictures of four wheeled contrapations, this is a chart of the history of BIcyles, not all types of human powered vehicles (I also don’t see any three wheelers unless the little red one on the middle right hand side is a kid’s tricycle, but probably more like a strider type bike). ;) :p

The Arlington Trolley Pub disapproves of this comment.

I thought so too at first! But if you right-click and choose “view image” to zoom in, their labeling goes from commuter/trekking bikes –> freeride –> downhill –> 29″er –> 27.5″. Seems like an odd evolution to me.

No fat bikes and no triple or quadruple tandems.

The chronology is really jacked up. The poster implies that longtails were invented in 1920 (when it was really more like 1990) and has Yuba’s Boda Boda evolving in 1960 instead of, oh, 2012.

All that doesn’t stop me from admiring it and wanting one for every room in my house. :-)
