ParticipantDana are you just trying to get me to not ride so that you can pull ahead in the NBC?

Just think how nice it would be to sit in the shade and use air conditioned public transportation to get home. No sweating, opportunity to read. That’s what I’d do.

Um, isn’t there an expiration date on “old” photos? *cough*
Oh wait. Didn’t realize you took this shot on a regular basis.

It’s all about perspective! 113 seems downright temperate.

ParticipantYou guys are all crazy riding out there in this heat. It’s an oven out there.

ParticipantFeels better riding than walking! (until I hit the hills, anyway)

Nah, ovens have more of a dry heat.

ParticipantI suffered through a two mile ride from the office to the Potomac river where I promptly jumped in and floated around in search of relief. To be honest in the water felt little different than out of it!

ParticipantFrom 1615 to 1700 I never saw temps over 95 on my ride. Y’all must be moving too slow to get that cooling effect from the breeze.

ParticipantI love this weather, The heat makes everyone stay inside so I almost have my own private trail again. I am thinking of trying to make it to the Thursday Happy Hour but you people are really far away.
But I can’t stand not being able to put a face to all these names. Should have ridden my road bike this morning it is lighter than the monster commuter. Who know I am looking at the logistics. It will be hot this afternoon. Stay hydrated. And rejoice, IT ISN’T WINTER !!!!July 18, 2013 at 12:46 pm #975720bobco85
ParticipantIf not for the temperature and humidity, definitely be careful out there due to the air quality. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow have an Air Quality Index of Orange for the DC area: http://www.weather.com/outlook/health/airquality/?state=DC

ParticipantI’ve felt absolutely dead all week and haven’t even touched the bike so I’m totally blaming the heat
Feeling slightly less awful today so hoping to make it to FCC tomorrow!

Maybe causation goes the other way? Cuddle up with the bike tonight, and you’ll feel all better…
Seriously, though, feel better. A bug is going around these days — baby is stuffed up and we thought toddler had escaped it until she woke up sick last night. BTW, hearing/watching a toddler inhale vomit is a terrifying, though apparently common, experience.
