    There is a 75 percent chance of at least 1 inch of rain, a 50 percent chance of at least 2 inches, and 25 percent chance of more than 3 inches.

    The National Weather Service has posted a flash flood watch from Friday morning to Friday evening for the potential of 2 to 4 inches of rain, and isolated amounts to 6 inches.
    Particularly from late Friday morning into Friday evening, a period of very heavy rain is possible, that could lead to localized flash flooding. If you live in an area that normally floods during heavy rain events, be prepared.

    And if you live in the District and aren’t sure about whether or not where you live normally floods, the DC Govt (and FEMA) will help you out with this Google Earth Map (KML file – will require Google Earth or other mapping software to open).

    Fun! The best part about commuting to Great Falls is that its pretty much impossible to get here without going over a low creek crossing.

    And more fun in the W&OD/4MRT under[water]passes. ;) I think there is also supposed to be an abnormally high tide with the new moon.

    Yea, but you were given twenty different ways to clean it on your, “Is it possible?” thread, so try a new method for Saturday, and different one for Sunday. May I suggest, a light waxing followed by fresh mineral spirits.

    Had a great ride in (although I didn’t make it out the door early enough for FCC :( ) – tonight might be interesting! Four Mile Run is looking pretty high already.

    Someone remind me to adjust my rear brake cable before I go home (after I spent 15 minutes this morning cramming my Cygolite mount in under the barrel adjuster :P )

    Uneventful ride in. We will see what the ride home brings. Last time we had torrential rains, the first crossing looked like this:

    Since I was heading to FFII this morning, I skipped the W&OD/4MRT underpasses. However, the drain in the dip in the Custis just east of the 3 milepost was clearly clogged and there was a ten foot wide pond of six inch deep water covering the trail.

    Dickie and I were debating the wisdom of riding to Crystal City the afternoon to pickup our ride packets for Sunday’s Challenge Cup.
