Hello!! We received a request from the Realize Rosslyn Sector Plan for bicyclists in the area to fill out this two part web-based survey on biking conditions in Rosslyn. It will help them make bicycle infrastructure improvements to Rosslyn so if you ride there everyday, sometimes or even never, please fill this out! Thanks and see his email below:
The purpose of this email is to request that you complete a two-part web-based survey (see links below) on biking conditions in Rosslyn as part of the Realize Rosslyn Sector Plan update.
As background to this request, Arlington County is in the process of preparing an update to the Rosslyn Sector Plan. This effort, referred to as Realize Rosslyn, serves as the first major update since the completion of the 1992 Station Area Plan Addendum. The purpose of this plan is to have a framework in place to guide future public improvements in Rosslyn and proposed private development when it occurs. The urban design team consulting the County in this effort, led by Goody Clancy, held public workshops in March to gather input on the vision and goals for Rosslyn, as well as ideas to consider for future improvements related to land use, parks and open space, and transportation. The team is now drafting improvements and will present findings to the public in the coming months. You can read more about this effort at the project website: http://www.arlingtonva.us/rosslyn.
As part of the transportation component of the plan, the Goody Clancy team has drafted a set of improvements to the bike network. These improvements build off of the recommendations put forth by County Transportation Staff as part of the Rosslyn Multimodal Transportation Study that was completed in Fall 2012.
The Goody Clancy team would like each member of the BAC to complete a two-part web-based survey to provide feedback on the bike network and identify priorities for implementation.
The first part of the survey involves sharing observations on a map-based tool to identify location-specific examples of what works well or what could be improved as it relates to biking conditions in Rosslyn. Initial comments on the map were provided by attendees at Bike-To-Work Day at Rosslyn’s Gateway Park on May 17.
Please click here to access the map tool: http://maps.kittelson.com/BikeRosslyn.
The second part of the survey is a brief questionnaire which addresses priorities for bike improvements. A link to this questionnaire is provided on the right-hand side of the map tool and is also provided here: http://goo.gl/38nIe.
Thank you in advance for your participation and please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you on the 3rd!
Sincerely,
Brandon Nevers
