    Just wanted to let everyone here know that our own Stephanie (txgoonie) finished 8th in the Tour of Battenkill this weekend. Awesome results!

    Steph is awesome! She’s been training super hard and completely earned it.

    Oh, man, I didn’t see this till now. Thanks, Tim! I think jabber can take some of the credit/blame for it — being one of the first to get me out on a bike doing crazy things like Mt. Weather.

    It was quite an adventure, with some yummy dirt climbs the folks around here would eat up with a spoon. My friend took this during course recon the day before. Meeting House Road is sorta the defining climb of the race.

    Gripped Racing could not be more proud of Ms. Stephanie. To put this into perspective, “Tour of the Battenkill” is widely recognized as “America’s Queen of the Classics” and many would say one of the toughest, meanest, coldest, dirtiest road races in the US. Having filmed bike racing around the globe I was particularly impressed having competed in this race last year, it is 65 miles of unrelenting climbs, gravel roads, pot holes and dangerously blind corners. As the French would say, it is Lé Git! But considering it was Steph’s 3rd bike race ever – like true beginner style (not some seasoned racer sandbagging as a cat 4) – she earned her stripes and some serious props. Can’t wait to see how far this woman can go on two wheels! The only question is – what’s next?
