There was no ice when I rode in this morning, but it was in the upper 30s. the temperature has dropped to 35, so it might be lower and icy when everyone else rolls out.

Sometimes I forget the temperature keeps dropping after I get to work. Last week, on the 14th, it was still in the mid/upper-30s when I rode in and I didn’t encounter any ice, so I was surprised to read the reports of icy conditions. (I guess to avoid ice you just need to ride in earlier!)

Thanks for the post. I haven’t been out yet, but the roads look drier than I thought they would be. I think it’ll be fine, except maybe for some of the usual, visible puddles.

On my ride on from 7:30 to 8:30, I encountered no problems on the W&OD from Ohio St, 4MRT from Glencarlyn, or the MVT to Rosslyn. There were occasional frozen puddles, but they were easy to navigate around. There were several iced boards on the Roosevelt Trollheim walkway, but only one or two were next to each other and there was no ice at all at the junction.

There was a patch of ice on the PA Ave cycletracks at 14th – if there’s ice there, there could be ice anywhere. Be careful out there.
