You beat me to posting a photo. The front tire is bent and there is a bike lock (a wire w/ plastic sheathing) but it doesn’t appear to be locked to the post itself.

The bike is purple/black w/ a yellow floral bell that says “Electra” (I think).

Should this be reported to Arlington Police? It’s on the Custis just near the Patrick Henry underpass.

No need to lock it – nobody’s going to ride off on it.

I’ll report it. Can someone put together a google map aerial with it’s exact location? Thanks!

Looks like a very large bicycle frame being built. Been sitting here for several weeks.

I think I saw the owner retrieving this on Saturday…at least I assume it was the owner. Maybe I’m stereotyping, but I’m guessing a middle-aged woman in dress clothes and driving a Volvo wasn’t stealing a busted bike from the trail.

Yeah, I sent the police on a wild goose chase. They couldn’t find anything yesterday…

I thought this is kinda what I was doing. Because I’m paranoid, I prefer not to send emails.

Ok, but I’m still gonna post pictures of stuff I see along the trail! :-)

Slick conditions this morning, almost fell right here.
Stay safe out there and don’t shine your light in my eyes :-)

Interesting photo, and am glad you made it through that. Where was it taken?

FMR trail across from Shirlington looked completely clear this morning, at least from across the street. (Couldn’t tell if there was any black ice, but there didn’t appear to be any.)
