According to one of my friends (he researched it on the Interwebs so this is factual and all that), the Mayans were dyslexic. TEOTWAWKI is on 12-21-21. CNN has yet to comment on their contribution to the confusion.

This conclusion also makes sense if you remember the Aztecs succeeded the Mayans, and the Spaniards found the Aztecs, and the Spaniards are European, and in Europe, today is 21-12-12, making the Euro-style date 21-12-21 more aesthetic. As cyclists, we’re supossed to be in awe, or thrall, or something of anything European, a further reason to go with 21-12-21. See you in 9 years!

    Are we following a star?

I sure am looking forward to those 30 MPH gusts, but much better than Saturday’s 45 to 55 MPH gusts! Not going to be a day for doing Hains Point loops! Luckily those should drop off to 5 to 10 MPH for the Sunday event.

Well this apocalypse didn’t work out quite like I’d hoped, but at least we got coffee and free chain lube out of it…

A friend borrowed it a few months back and was returning it. Does that help? I’m happy that I didn’t have to face the apocalypse without it… even if the end of days didn’t happen….. yet.

Even doing a quick search doesn’t tell me much, something to do with skateboards? That and you trying to sell one on e-bay.

This will not be fun. We had strong winds earlier in the week too. My output is still 90RPM, but I can’t shift up without leg pain – only 18mph :(.

Well, I saw a similiar reference (), but that does not resemble that yellow thingy on the table (or hanging from the back of your underseat wedge pack).

It’s yellow like livestrong swag. It’s a single instead of a double because of cancer.

Mine was intended as a humorous way of honoring the good work that the Livestrong foundation does. Lots of people didn’t think the humor mixed well with the cause. Basically everyone that I talked to about it ended up finding it funny and seeing that though they might not find it appropriate, understood that it was actually done as a positive thing, rather than being done to mock or degrade the work that Livestrong does, which was never and never will be my intent.

Not to go too much into this… ’cause it is off topic… if I ever have a topic… Despite what has come to light about Lance over the last year, there are a TON of people who received important help at the most difficult time of their life with the help of Livestrong. I’ve met a bunch of them and their families and still find amazing value in what they’ve done. Definitely not an “ends justify the means” sort of thing… just an acknowledgement of a lot of people that have done and continue to do really good work.
