    Normal commute: Leave work 4:30, reach Pentagon ~5pm, catch the 5:03 bus to Kings Park West/Fairfax, Get stuck in traffic on Beltway at 5:15-5:30, Drop off everyone else on the bus and get to my stop 6:10, ride to my house arrive at 6:15.

    tonight: 4:25 check traffic, see that the world is ending on the beltway/springfield interchange. 4:35 leave work, 4:35-5:00 – fight traffic with a smile on my face. 5:00-6:40 – dodge Ninja joggers on my bike commute with a smile on my face. 6:40 arrive home – well worth the 25 extra minutes (especially since I wouldn’t have been home until probably 7:00.

    I love my bike – the ole beater.

    Since this is my personal post (I seem to be the only one posting here), I would like to annouce that I hit 4400 miles for the year on my ride home tonight (12 miles short of doubling last years miles!)

    It took me an hour and a half to drive home from Old Town to Annandale. I think every street was jammed with people avoiding the beltway.

    Came ( to the thread ) for the snicker at the car commuter trauma drive by, stayed for the joy of riding moment. :D
