    I was riding from Seven Corners heading to the Custis trail – my first time riding in this area. I assumed the Custis would be obvious so didn’t check my map. I don’t think I saw any signs, and even though I passed over I66 and should have realized something was wrong, I kept going till I hit Washington Blvd (at which point instead of doubling back I took the back streets to Custis at Westover (?) Park.

    It might be helpful if there were more signs indicating the trail from the bike lanes.

    There’s not a direct connection. At the bottom of the hill on the south side of 66, turn at the bike crossing / crosswalk and go down the sidewalk to the cul-de-sac of Four Mile Run Drive. The access to the W&OD across the creek is about 100 feet down the road. The Four Mile Run Trail is accessible eastbound by following Four Mile Run Drive a few blocks. Turn the other way at the crosswalk to go west on FMR trail.

    Signage in Arlington has gotten better, but is still not great. There are rarely signs from bike lanes/streets to particular trails, though you’ll sometimes find “bike route” signs that direct you onto trails.

    I find that the closer you are to Rosslyn, the better the signage is.
