Holy crap, they did this fast…I rode through this intersection this morning and it was same as usual. I’d take pics this evening, but I think it’ll be dark by the time I ride back through.

As a side note, I’d have to say that this particular intersection has, at any given time, the lowest per capita driver IQ of just about any place I’ve ever been. DDOT did some good work this spring with the bike and turn lane markings on the eastbound side, which helped, but the sh*t that I see every time I’m at this intersection just floors me. It’s also fun to play “spot the flash” as drivers run the red lights constantly, but then you remember the consequences and it’s no fun anymore.

I learned this morning that Green Paint is worthless around impatient drivers. I was coming through this intersection this morning moving East on I street, a car was stopped in the intersection trying to turn left, and the 3 cars in front of me cut me off and swerved right into the green bike lane, then sped through the intersection to get around the stopped car. One of them even pulled right 2 lanes (through bike lane and right turn lane) to get around the car that was getting around the stopped car too slowly, almost side swiping me and forcing me all the way right in the right turn lane. Today was the closest I have gotten in a while to being hit. Damn drivers, non of them probably even knew that I was at risk of being hit, and thought themselves “good” drivers for saving that 2 minutes had they missed the light.
