Very cool stuff. I remember showing up to races when I first moved here in 1989 and having people riding Proteus frames. I still see them around from time to time, but finding people that ride old steel is getting rare.
There are a core bunch of us on my daily commute that make sure to share appreciation for each others’ historically significant rides. I actually got a little good-natured ribbing from a Bob this morning because I was riding my carbon wunderbike instead of something old, steel and/or fixed.
