Nope, they are requiring me to indemnify WDC. This means if Paul sues WDC on a completely frivolous account, WDC pays, and I am contractually obligated to indemnify WDC – even tho the lawsuit was frivolous – even tho I was not a named party.
When I volunteer, I do a quick search for the word “indemnify.” It means if they pay, you have to pay them. If the word is in the waiver, I dont sign.
Let’s remember, I am donating my free time to whatever – I am at a loss why I am signing the waiver at all. Those who are employed, those that they are paying, have better protections – than those who give their time freely. You want me to sign an idiot waiver to give my free time to you – heh – I have dogs that need walking.
