ParticipantYikes, I’m supposed to get new gloves when I get blood stains on them? Who knew? I’d better hustle down to my LBS ( hi Jenn ) :p

It was on the Paint branch trail, headed west. Look under the arrow:

There’s a hole in the middle of the dark stain that isn’t showing up too well. Also, my once bright gloves (great, at least in my mind, for signaling) are more horror show than visibility boon.

bloody gloves will get more attention when signalling, the drivers will think you punched the last guy who didn’t yield.

ParticipantIf it makes you feel any better, I’m still trying to get the dirt stain out of the jersey that I was wearing when I hit the boardwalk back in late July. I keep throwing it into the laundry every time I do a load even though I’m not biking at the moment due to injury. That is some really stubborn dirt but I refuse to give up.

Pour some peroxide on it before the next wash.

Won’t that take the color out though? And not to sound stupid, but are you talking hydrogen peroxide?

No, I haven’t had it take color out yet. And yes, hydrogen peroxide. Whenever you see a cleaning product with “oxy” in the name, that’s the important ingredient.

ParticipantHydrogen peroxide is a milder oxidizer than bleach (hypochlorous acid). It has the same effect but is weaker and hopefully won’t take out colors.

I’ll give it a try then. I’ve got a big bottle of the stuff in the medicine cabinet due to recent splat on the MVT boardwalk.
