Pete, I have some puddles for you to play in! Four Mile Run had flooded over the trail in three or four areas near or underneath the overpasses close to the MVT intersection this morning. The deepest area, right near the turn toward the airport, was only 6 or 7 inches deep, but could be an unwelcome surprise to someone headed southbound around that downhill turn. I have no idea where all that water came from!

There also was one big puddle on the MVT near the marina this morning that wasn’t there yesterday.

I went via 4MR this morning. It was flooded for some decently long sections and yeah to a depth of around half a foot. Glad to have my fenders on!

This is the coastal flooding that the NWS warned about. It was just starting to creep across the east end before the uphill turn and was easy to avoid when I went through at 7:50 this morning. It probably means there will be high water debris on the trail for the evening commute, so be careful.

I think the coastal flooding is due to unusually high tide (darn moon!) and upstream flooding from taking its sweet time to get down river (darn West Virginia).

Can WABA work with local lawmakers and just outlaw coastal flooding? North Carolina seems to think it can work.
