I did, but my commute is only 3.5 miles. I wore not my lightest long-sleeve shirt and my lightweight gloves, and I was pretty comfortable.

NO! Went back to the fleece lined boots.

The ferocious headwind on the ride home all week so far has nicely coincided with the need to bring about 30 pounds of extra stuff home each night in advance of our office move this weekend. Slowest times ever on Cyclemeter.

But it’s supposed to be back over 80 on Sunday, so be prepared for anything!

By the time I got home through the wind at 8 pm (the posting time on these notices is a little off), I was missing my chemical toe warmers! I’m still thawing out. This is crazy weather! You were smart to wear those boots, Liz. Good luck with your move!

Just got home. Need to thaw! Anyone ride in shorts today??

The winter stuff has been washed and stored away for the summer. While not the smartest decision I’ve made, it is one I am forcing myself to live with. The difference between pride and stupidity is often modest.

I find that, in weather like this, wearing longish shorts is best because a) you’ve got some extra fabric to set fire to keep you warm and motivate you and b) the headwind fans the flames nicely. I think I’ve found goosebump sites (on appropriately exposed skin, please get your minds out of the gutter) I didn’t know existed.

CaBi home in work clothes wearing one of my dozens of softshells. I commute Arlington to DC in the afternoon so it was quite pleasant. ;)

LOL – I knew there were some tough (and very funny) guys out there. I admit it – I’m a wimp. My fingers and toes are still cold!! I hope to warm up by Friday. :)

After checking the forecast, I had almost full on winter gear for today. Leg warmers under bike shorts, neck gaiter, snow goggles, jacket over base layer. (The only differences – in real winter I would add an extra long sleeve layer up top, and MTB shorts over bike shorts.)

Actually I’ve been wearing the goggles all week anyway – the pollen has been killing me. Makes for some interesting looks from interesting folks.

I saw SNOW squalls from my office window this afternoon. Couldn’t believe it.

You’re not the only one. I’ve been in pretty much full-on winter gear last few mornings. Heck with cold!

35F in Pittsburgh PA this morning. Going to explore the downtown and see if I can find the Allegheny Passage trailhead — see how far I get.

definitely brought out the tights, winter gloves, arm warmers, balaclava and the fleece headsock, but I refuse to put the moose mitts back on the bike. the balance between freezing in the morning and burning up in the afternoon is a fun dance.

I put on thin gloves and didn’t wear flip-flops.

I was cranking on the W&OD last night around 8:30 and could have sworn that I felt some sleet. Was also rocking the shorts and fingerless gloves, bad call.

No shorts, back to the bib knickers with long ski socks, full finger gloves, and ear band for the ride in. While a decent afternoon temperature, the wind made me glad of the warmer gear (but left off the ear band and my coldgear base layer).
