Oooh, a chance to wear a costume too.
    I’m in.
But only because it’s for the children…

Less than a week to go until the parade. A couple thousand Mardi Gras beads have been ordered and we’ll have tons of lollipops too.

We’ve gotten a little more information–we are number 23 in the lineup, just behind The Jim Moyer Circus Club, Freddies Beach Bar, and Whitlows!

If you’re interested in participating, let us know and I’ll add your name to our list!

Hmmmm…right now the long range forecast is for temperatures in the mid-40s and no rain on Tuesday evening. If that holds, I’m in. How about tossing out BikeArlington blinkies (or at least having a supply to distribute)?

We are quite low on lights so probably won’t make those available to toss out to the throngs of screaming fans. I should know more about how our budget is shaking out soon, at which point we can look into ordering more. FYI–we gave out 1000 sets of lights between our volunteers and volunteer events.

We are going as part of Arlington County Commuter Services. That includes BikeArlington and Capital Bikeshare and is open to participation for anyone who wants to join. Even if someone doesn’t live in Arlington, they certain use our trails and services!

    Mr. Kelley,
Is there a dress code that I can flagrantly disregard?

Argh….That’s not the direction I was headed in…
Is Bike Arlington regalia required? Because I might freeze to death.

Maybe, I’ll probably be around that night anyway. I keep meaning to do this every year… I’ll let you know.

No, but either please bring your bike to ride or your Capital Bikeshare key!

We haven’t quite firmed up the exact location where we will be gathering beforehand, but we will keep you posted

Did we figure this out? Our do we just come down and look for the funny looking people on bicycles?

I haven’t heard anything yet. (Every years it seems that the details are last minute) My guess is that we’ll be staging somewhere between Delhi Dhaba and and Whole Foods around 7:15/7:30.

And I heard that there may be some vuvuzellas coming as well!

Crap! I thought it was next week. I think I might stick around anyway. I’ll let you know.

We have some updated information on the parade! Woohoo!

We are #25 in the parade line-up and we will be setting up on Adams St, off of Clarendon Blvd.

You are not required to wear anything specific (i.e. costumes acceptable, BA regalia not mandatory), but of course as Mr. Kelley pointed out, this is a kid/family friendly event :p

We will be arriving between 7:15pm and 7:30pm. The parade starts at 8pm!

See you there! Laissez les bon temps rouler! :)
