    Of course! We have 14 counters in the field now–anything in particular that you are interested in?

    We’re putting together a public dashboard for release this spring. It’ll include search features for day, time of day, direction traveled and even include weather patterns. It’s going to be good stuff!

    purely self centered curiousity. I see the ones at the intersection of the Custis and W&OD, the one above in Rosslyn at the top of the hill, and the one at the Key Bridge. Can’t wait to see the dashboard. I’m not stellar at manipulating numbers, but I like to look at them!

    Is there a map of the counters?

    I don’t have the most up to date map right now, but the graph above is for the top of the Rosslyn hill counter you mentioned.

    Here are just the bike/ped details on the others:

    W&OD & Bon Air Park: 501585 since January 2011

    Custis & Bon Air Park: 437,668 since December 2010

    Key Bridge (West Side): 188,674 since August 2011

    Key Bridge (East Side): The pedestrian calibration has been off as there likely aren’t 100,000 people per day crossing the bridge on foot. So, just the bikes: 66,439 since August 2011

    I ran back in forth one of them a few dozen times, so subtract a few. I was bored.

    wow, that is pretty impressive. If the Trail counts as a park, it is easily the most heavily used park in the state of Virginia. In the summer months, in the afternoon, it gets really frustrating riding the Custis. You know Arlington has restrictions on 66 and 395 during heavy periods, how about the same thing on the Custis in the afternoon rush from say 4 to 7 pm, like no dog walking, no walking double abreast, more reminder signs to stay far right, etc. It’s really a drag have to slow down to walking pace every mile or more. I gave up and started riding the streets in the afternoon, scratch a few trips from the million mark. Or it would be even better to widen it and have one section just for walkers/skaters and one just for bikers, most side walks in Germany are so divided.

    I know the W&OD is a NVRPA park, but I don’t think the Custis is.

    Haha. good luck with that. They irritate me a little too, but then I think how irritated I would be if I was stuck in traffic on a beautiful day, I take a deep breath, ring my bell, and I find that it never costs me more than a few minutes over the span of my entire commute.
