    No real need to warn about this because you’d have to be blind to miss it. I thought I’d post up anyways since I’ve been whining about traffic enforcement lately.

    Arlington County patrol car was parked on the Custis trail between Fort Meyer Dr. and Lynn Street. I rode past, no problem, though it made the trail a one-lane affair. Right after I crossed Fort Meyer, someone made a right on red, which is posted as illegal. The officer drove down the trail and nailed Mr. Offender on Lee Highway. Nice to see the enforcement! Luckily it was low traffic for a Friday on the Custis or it would have been complicated. The officer would likely have not parked there if it was high traffic.

    Happy for the traffic enforcement. Seems all too rare these days.

    On the dummy I make a damn good one. I got rear ended by a cyclist once when I stopped at a stop sign and another cyclist didn’t. I felt something bump off the back of my bike and looked back… They were sprawled out on the pavement. Amazing that I barely felt the impact. ;)

    Huh, I went through there not a minute before that (I remember yelling something at you going down the ramp to TR Island) and he wasn’t there then. I do remember thinking there was absolutely nobody on the trail that day. There is the pullout on the park side he could have used instead to sit and watch the intersection, but I’m just glad they were out there doing enforcement.

    My head is like a sieve. I knew someone yelled at me… something about honking and being horny, but I didn’t have time to figure out who. :D Hi! by the way. :D

    Except that he would have to cross the lanes of traffic to get to the right lane and nab the “right on red” violators. This way, he comes out on the crosswalk — when I have seen him. I don’t know if it’s the same officer, but I’ve seen a patrol car parked there a number of times , but much closer to the intersection. (Usually around 3:30 p.m.)

    Heh, I saw that car too and wondered what it was doing. I probably went thru 30 mins or so before you judging by the light (it certainly was a low traffic Friday, a bit weird). Often I’ll see a patrol car parked on Lynn St facing Key Bridge in the far left lane beside the park.

    Finally there’s free parking in Rosslyn. ;)

    I’m actually not really complaining. If Dude is enforcing traffic laws, I’m all for him parking there. Mostly I’m just being a contrary, whiny little beach. Pretty, pink, princess beach to you. ;)
