The street in front of the White House is closed. The Secret Service cop or whoever told me to take the sidewalk up 15th, I didn’t think to retort, “That’s illegal here” until I was out of earshot. I took the street instead. But then one clown turning left onto 15th almost didn’t yield to me, then two more clowns decided the red left turn arrows off 15th were just suggestions to be ignored. Any one of these things would be typical on an average commute, but it seems my number of near misses due solely to driver ignorance or negligence goes WAY up when it’s raining.

It should be illegal to drive in the rain in this city.

You are forgetting the full moon… Stupidity goes up exponentially when you add that to the rain.

One of the guys I work with summed up DC area traffic well:

“If you want to screw up traffic in DC, just add water”

Oh, I forgot the full moon. I never believed in that hooey until my old boss at Subway in high school kept pointing out how weird customers got when it was full. That would explain it.

I don’t think its just DC, pretty much every where traffic gets horrendous as soon as rain drops are spotted. But yeah, DC is especially terrible.
