If you’re using the Custis trail to ride from N. VA past Roosevelt Island, the vegetation clearing crew cleared a cyclist-sized gap in providing access to a meter on the right hand side of the bridge over the GW Parkway.
What was once a green, safety barrier that protected cyclists from missing a short, sweet, steep turn onto the bridge that goes over the GW Parkway [amidst other trail users], as of Thursday morning, you have a 5″ wooden curb to prevent you from launching/plummeting off the very steep terrace onto the SE-bound GW parkway below, see pictures.
Anyway, big FYI, be safe, & enjoy your rides!
