Does anyone know the current conditions on the Capital Crescent Trail? I normally use it for my daily commuting (Chevy Chase to Federal Triangle), but I’ve only got road tires, so I haven’t ventured out on it since Thursday’s snow, and I don’t live close enough to it to “take a look.” I assume it’s an ice/snow mess, but would welcome any first-hand reports. Thanks!

Talked to my friend Patrick this morning. He said that between 20 and 25% of the CCT from Bethesda into DC is snow/ice. Still pretty ugly.

Thanks very much for the info. Guess it will take several consecutive days in the 40s to clear things up. At the current rate, we should get that by, oh, April or May. :-(

It is like that every winter. I often have the studded tires on for months on end… even if there’s only ice on 15% of the ride, I’m still going to use the studs.
