    Thanks Mark. I’m glad they’re not doing a managed hunt in Bluemont. ;)

    Got an update on this:

    “Due to high winds, the overhead work on power lines on December 14 on the W&OD Trail has been postponed.

    Call 804-771-3455 for Dominion Power questions and 703-272-0596 for W&OD Trail questions.”

    And we’re back on for the trail closure here:

    “Due to overhead work on power lines, the W&OD Trail will be closed on December 15 at 5am between Carlin Springs Road and the Bluemont Junction Trail. It will reopen the following day. Four Mile Run, a parallel trail on the other side of the stream is available.

    As of 7:30 this morning, December 16th, it was still closed with the detour onto the 4 Mile Run Trail.

    The W&OD was open when I rode through at 6:30 pm, Thursday. The snow was pretty well churned up from walkers/runners and only a couple of bike tracks between Columbia Pike and the Custis Trail intersection.
