The rig will be carried on a remotely controlled rubber-tracked platform approximately 4’ wide and 8’ long. It’s maximum speed, achieved during the traverse between borings, is 5 mph or less…
All of the boring locations to be drilled at night are in locations where there are existing barriers between the work and nearby homes—dense woodlands, retaining walls, hills, etc.
I would like to see this remote-control platform!
Aww, even they think their drilling is boring.

Who knows how well these things work, but the fun potential makes this seem like a great deal….!

I don’t see why folks in the biking community are getting upset about this.
I dunno, I was running yesterday and found it rather annoying…

ParticipantThat awkward moment when…
For the SECOND time today, you realize you forgot to hang up your kit after changing into work clothes.
Ewwww.

ParticipantTHREE DAYS IN A ROW! (and Coffee Club!)
Possibly the only thing keeping me from quitting my job today and becoming a hobo.
I will carry my dog in a polka-dotted kerchief tied to a stick mounted to the rear rack on my bike. I will learn to bunnyhop so that we can leap onto boxcars and ride the rails, stopping only to camp and eat beans from a can around the communal hobo campfire whilst my fellow hobos play the ukelele and sing the fine old hobo songs we all know and love, like “There’s a Hole in my Lycra, Dear Liza, Dear Liza” and “99 Bottles of Nuun on the Wall”.

When I rolled up somebody was already on the phone reporting it. Somewhere upstream of the Shirlington Rd bridge is all I could tell.
Oh hai, was that you I was chatting to then?

Crap, not only did I miss happy hour, but I’m going to miss Friday Coffee Club tomorrow, too. Again, I sincerely hope my absence doesn’t ruin it for the rest of you. Please, try to carry on without me. I know it’s hard, but you must.
Now I’m picturing Dirt zooming down the trails on the Fixie of Pinkness singing “How Do I Live Without You”.

ParticipantThat was awesome! See y’all at Coffee Club tomorrow?

ParticipantZOMG today and the people and the clicking on the links and the viruses! WHERE BE MY GROG?!
I’m hoping I can take half of the lunch break I haven’t had yet and leave at 5 today. We shall see.
UPDATE: Nope. No lunch break for me!
