I went by the Embassy of Latvia Little Free Library 2306 Massachusetts Ave NW in DC, but am always leary of stopping and taking pictures at Embassies or walking onto their properties uninvited. I know Diplomatic Security discourages it and I got a stern talking to by one of the Romanian police when I was taking an exterior picture of our Consular Building in Bucharest and I was a US Consul there at the time.
Note, since no photo, I did not hashtag the ride
Same thing happened to me when I was in Paris. I was exuberant American girl happy to see “my” embassy. Guards were ferocious Marines who were not happy to indulge me. And this was way back in 1989 or so!
BUT — I am also the empress of this game, so despite lack of photo, you accrue points for good instinct!

What’s a better goat than a real live goat? I rode out El Camino Real through the old Spanish mission districts to get photos of the live goats at the Licon’s Dairy in San Elizario. Side benefit, picked up some of their Queso Azadero for sandwiches this week. They have a small (free) petting zoo with ostriches, miniature donkeys, chickens, ducks, and of course, goats.
I was over visiting the ostriches when I heard a little boy call out, “Hey, that goat is on the roof!” By the time I looked over to see, the goat had come down from the roof on the outside of its pen and was having a grand ol’ time wandering around and laughing at all the other goats who hadn’t figured out the trick. Classic Capricorn behavior (He is not too gregarious & outgoing, but his personality traits include determination and patience) so of course, I had to take a photo of it!

ParticipantI had such a great ride today out to San Elizario along El Camino Real. I saw so many things that are public art … and will be riding back there for more submissions. Talk about target rich! I can’t wait to share them. For now, here is my submission (the bears of Ysleta del Sur) with the fuel tank and the bike rack being “fun to look at” …

Yep! One of my favorites. It’s outside Brookland’s Finest restaurant in NE DC, which is worth a stop if you’re in the neighborhood. Parts include bike gears, a computer keyboard, and a pretty accurate temperature gauge. I think I used it earlier in the LFL contest on a snowy day.
I remembered a robot, but perhaps didn’t notice all the detail of this photo! So very cool.

These are 3 bike racks outside of Walker Nature Center in Reston. The artist is Dana Ann Scheurer and these are collectively titled “Pileated Woodpecker.” The pileated woodpecker is Reston’s official bird and the three wheels of the bike rack display the woodpecker in flight, perched in a tree, and a rectangular nesting hole which is unique amongst woodpeckers species. And Reston Bike Club donated money to help pay for these “artistic bike racks” — as well as the ones at the Pony Barn and Duck, Duck, Goose at the Lake House.

2/05/22: LFL Charter #39455 – Moms Organic Market, Del Ray, Alexandria VA (inside the Exit vestibule area)
This is the first LFL that I’ve found that came with instructions on how it works, and a copy of the Holy Bible inside. Also love the color scheme!Sent from Boomer_Cycles via my iPhone using Tapatalk
It looks like tie-dye — very Mom’s!

One can only hope that if Nostradamus’ interpreted predictions for the rise of robots in 2022 comes true, they’ll be friendly and come bearing books like this one.
PLEASE tell me that’s a Little Free Library! So awesome!

I saw the post too late about sports and food, so I don’t have one for this one.
However – this is one of the COOLEST LFLs I have ever seen -a TARDIS!
located at 1620 S. Quincy Street, Arlington, VA

I went back and looked and this is the 2nd Tardis – the earlier one was in Bethesda and after that one you said there was one in Arlington – is this the one you meant? The shape certainly lends itself to a Tardis!

ParticipantWhat a delightful surprise as I came around a corner in the next neighborhood over from here.

I might have made this more artsy had not the entire shaded area been ice! I wonder if the psychic predicted that would happen this week!
