Vince et. al.,
What are you guys running on your cross races? Is there an ideal/common ratio for cross?
Is your ratio set to climb hills or run than gun?I was 36:16 (60gi), but tried 39:19 (55gi) on the last race. Maybe it a was because it was a fast / flat course but 55gi felt too low.

ParticipantRoads from City of Fairfax to Vienna were pretty clear, some icy slush on shoulders.
WOD from Vienna to East Falls Church were groomed yesterday so hardly any ruts. Mostly packed snow and crunchy ice, some slick spots where yesterday’s thaw re-froze. I think it’s rideable on low pressure cross tires with (much) caution, I rode it with studs this morning and it was fine. Citizen’s Bridge in Falls Church was the worst part, deep rutted snow / ice. Van Buren St was still mostly covered with ice.
WOD-Custis from EFC to Rosslyn was 99% clear and dry, only a few spots of ice. Key bridge was clear on one half the sidewalk, some packed ice / snow on the other. Have to use caution passing pedestrians, runners and other cyclists – everyone wants the clear line through.

Rockford ant I are up for this. What is a reasonable hour? 8-something? 9:00? I’ll be riding my new fixie, if anyone wants to come out and see it (don’t know if that’s an incentive or not).
I’m going to roll from Vienna WOD at 08:00, get there by 08:30 if you want to join

That was awesome! Glad I could make it down. The VWS team and I were there for a short while and I had a chance to put my nose in the wind for the Bikenetics guys for a few laps – hope that helped! Especially for Vin (I believe – I’m horrible with names) on the fixie leading the charge!!! Rock on –
Thanks for the long pull, I was pretty spent by then. Good to meet you in person.
