This will settle out as everyone joins their Freezing Saddles official teams. Until you join the Strava team and the site syncs, it will not show you on the individual leaderboard anymore. Join your team and give it an hour and all will be well.
Would it be possible, as in years past to publish the team lists, for every team in one post in a new thread?

Dachs6ParticipantIts 1:30 am on the E Coast…but just starting my day in Europe…I assume that the team listing will be populated today (15 Jan)?
Dachs6ParticipantI’ll be in the area in 2 weeks (22/23 Jan), if you have them at coffee, it’s an excuse to make it happen!
Dachs6ParticipantYes. Even though some (most?) of us Dirty Bikers live for those off the beaten path and less busy dirt trails and roads, it isn’t practical to do it every ride, so we mix it up and throw down on some dirt and gravel when ever we can, even if it means a slight (or major) detour on our commutes and other life requirements. Just estimate the dirt section and record it. Note: none of my rides so far have been entirely dirt/gravel/singletrack…
Dachs6Participant#1- 13.2 km on 1/1/20 over various forest maintenance roads around Stuttgart, Germany. Dirt and gravel was mostly clear some leaf cover and some frost in the shade, a bit muddy, air temp 3°C.
#2- 25 km on 1/2/20 on paths and single track along various small rivers northwest of Stuttgart, dirt, some gravel, a lot of mud and one former Wehrmacht machine gun bunker (need to do research about what was in the area where I found it)! air temp 0-3°C
#3- 8.5 kms on 1/3/20, commute in, forest maintenance roads and single track in the Rotwildpark, air temp 0-1°C
#4- 27.5 km on 1/3/20, commute out, forest maintenance roads and some single track in the Rotwildpark and around the Heukopf, air temp 4-6°C

Final DirtyBiker warm up (in the cold and snow)…I don’t suppose we can include ice and snow covered miles?
I think as long as the surface covered with snow is non-tarmac, its a qualifier…as for cold, isn’t that the point of BAFS? LOL
Dachs6ParticipantGo ahead and add the Dirty Biker competition under the #DirtyBikerFS20 tag
Thread explaining it is here: Dirty Biker… #DirtyBikerFS20
I’ll figure out how to arrange awarding the prize, since I am unlikely to be anywhere near the DMV at the end of competition Happy Hour. More to follow on that…
Dachs6ParticipantI will do my best to oblige!

Dachs6ParticipantI’d be inclined to take over Dirty Biker with the hashtag #DirtyBikerFS20…it hasn’t been claimed, and most of my commute is on gravel, so it seems reasonable.
Dachs6ParticipantWhat if one lives in a land without pie, but nevertheless a boundless bounty of delicious confectionaries that range from kucken (pie) to tort (cake)?
Dachs6ParticipantTotally late on this…

1. What did you think of the mileage cap (for team points, not individual points)? Scrap? Keep? Keep but up the mileage?
I’m with Subby, 150 (or, 250km!! in accordance with Rule #24)
@chuxtr 193345 wrote:
2. What do you think about trying to make the teams more “local,” i.e., teammates from the same area? But still trying to “balance” the teams (based on past Freezing Saddles participation) so that no one team is “stacked” with high mileage riders?
I’d support this, since I am continuing to live out of the area in Europe, and there are a few others “local” to me as well.
@chuxtr 193345 wrote:
3. Conversely, we could just make team assignments totally random. I think Steve O has done some analysis to indicate that this doesn’t necessarily change the results in terms of differences between teams.
Is it possible to randomize with some guardrails in place? re: “local” teams.
@chuxtr 193345 wrote:
4. What do you think about smaller size teams? Last year we had 19 teams with 10 riders each. It’s been suggested that Freezing Saddles is more competitive with smaller teams because every team member’s miles (or lack thereof) count more. Is something like 6 riders too small for a team?
No less than 8, just doing some quick estimating, any smaller and instead of keeping the competition closer, it may widen the gaps, significantly. Any smaller and I don’t a team could handle having even 1 fair weather rider, at 10 riders per, 2 fair weather cyclists can be absorbed and carried.
@chuxtr 193345 wrote:
5. Keep the current point system? 10 points for the first ride mile of the day (as an incentive to ride) but 1 point for every mile afterwards.
I think the system works well, it permits people who don’t ride very far to still contribute to team points, and it rewards those who ride the long mileage without skewing the top end of the points too badly either.
Dachs6ParticipantHad a fall on Tuesday. Stupid rookie move. All was fine on the paved path through the woods. Then I decided to stop and get a picture of the moon. Instead I just laid down and took a break on the pavement. No pictures. I’m not proud of these things. Since January 3, 2015 when I decided to dislocate my right shoulder and break my humerus, I hadn’t had so much as a close call- let’s chalk it up to making bike handling skills and utilizing a healthy caution for doing dumb stuff…now I’ve had 3 since January 1 this year. I guess I need to just ride more…
