We have a shot from our photo archives that we can’t ID the exact location. Lot’s of clues (the hedge, the guardrail, the centerline, the marker, the blue house, the shelter).

    Anyone know?

    Another clue might be when since you claim it is from the archives and house colors change as do shrubbery, tree cover, etc. So, when was the photo?

    Generally you can tell roughly what year by the width of their lapels, but because their back are to us, I’ll just tell you this was taken in 2015.

    The sign on the right with the emergency calling information has a number 37 on it. Does that help?

    In front of the Econolodge, where the trail used to cross the former Lee Hwy. at grade. Google street view from 2009.

    Well done! I knew it had to be something that changed and along a long trail (the number was too high on the marker for most trails).

    If the image came from a phone without editing, then you can view its metadata that contains GPS location and camera info. Two ways:

    1 – Using the free IrfanView(Windows only):

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IrfanView

    Click on Image–>Information–>EXIF info. If you don’t see “EXIF info” button, then the image doesn’t contain metadata.

    2 – Upload the image to this web site:
