Tandem Pointless Prize – 2026

Hi everyone! Greta Ann and I are co-sponsoring the tandem pointless prize again this year. Tag your tandem rides in Strava with #Tandem and feel free to post photos and tandem adventures in this thread or on discord. We ride tandems with the Metro Washington Association of Blind Athletes (MWABA), and we’ll post information about upcoming MWABA rides. MWABA provides tandems and can pair you with a blind or low-vision partner, so you don’t need your own tandem or partner to participate in this prize. They say that whichever direction your relationship is headed, a tandem will get you there quicker! So if you have a tandem in your garage but your spouse believes that riding it together will lead to a divorce, bring it on an MWABA ride or find a freezing saddles teammate to ride it with you! Tag any rides with a blind or visually impaired stoker as #TandemVI. Also tag any rides with a kid as #TandemKid (tag-along, etc. bikes count as long as the kid has pedals). GA and I enjoy the camaraderie, teamwork, and fun of tandem biking (plus you won’t be riding by yourself even if you’re slower than your friends), and we hope you’ll join us in tandem biking this freezing saddles!
