Seams on 4MR Underpass

Wow, I about biffed it right into the river when I accidentally caught the seams in the concrete on the 4MR underpass last night. Normally I avoid these pretty well, but it was dark and I guess I just got complacent. I know they have tried to patch some of these up with blacktop, but this one was not patched. I caught just enough of the seam with my skinny road bike tires to jerk my bike sideways. Didn’t crash fortunately, but I almost ate a couple of those railings beside the river.

Maybe another patch job is in order?

Where exactly? I want to be sure to avoid the seams that nailed you.

Going towards the Potomac, it was right near where it first starts going under the highway.

Thanks. I’ll pay special attention when I hit that area on the way home. I have dreaded getting caught on the seams on the Custis, west of the Marriott.
