Which Alexandria neighborhood was home to not one but two future U.S. presidents? Which president nearly got into a fistfight while visiting Alexandria? Where was one of President Lincoln’s closest friends killed? Come find out on this July 4 presidential history ride.
When: Thursday, July 4, at 9:00 a.m.
Where: Meet at Market Square, at the corner of King St and Fairfax St. The route is about 12 miles, with a mix of trails and streets and some hills: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/30301125.
Who: This no-drop ride is organized by Alexandria’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (and yours truly!) and is open to everyone.Details and registration at http://bit.ly/July4ride. Registration is encouraged, but you are also welcome to join the ride on the day of.
We’ll probably grab tacos at District Taco after the ride. All are welcome to attend.
