NatureDose is a per-minute measurement of the amount of time spent outdoors exposed to nature. Certain environments, like a suburban neighborhood, only provide partial time credit, while a visit to a park provides full minute-by-minute credit. Most NatureDose minutes wins the pointless prize.

To compete, authorize Strava integration with NatureQuant here: https://www.strava.com/oauth/authorize?client_id=63317&response_type=code&redirect_uri=https://www.naturequant.com/naturedose/&approval_prompt=force&scope=read,activity:read,activity:write&state=strava With Strava integration, the NatureDose for each ride will show up in your ride description. The pointless prize leaderboard will automatically track NatureDose minutes.

According to the folks at NatureQuant, “Overwhelming evidence in the scientific literature links nature exposure to improvements in physiological and psychological human health.” I’ve found that to be true in my own life, even when it’s freezing outside. Hopefully this pointless prize will motivate us to reap the benefits of nature during winter.

There’s a bug in their algorithm. If you stop a ride and restart it much later, it includes the stopped time in the score. For example, in this ride, I rode to a restaurant, stopped Strava, then restarted it after dinner for the ride back. I only rode for 22 minutes but had a NatureDose of 125 minutes.
