I’m fundraising for Phoenix Bikes, an incredible nonprofit that combines youth development, bike education, and community building right here in Arlington. As a longtime board member, volunteer, and cyclist, I’ve seen firsthand how Phoenix Bikes changes lives. It’s not just about fixing bikes. It’s about helping young people gain confidence, job skills, and a sense of purpose.
Their annual Raise + Ride event is coming up on August 2nd (but you can also do it virtually!) You can support it in three ways:
- Start a team and ride with friends
- Join an existing team (Team Sticky Fingers & Friends is a fun one. Not that I’m biased.) 🙂
- Donate to my fundraising efforts!
Every dollar helps keep their youth programs free and accessible. And as a sweet bonus, any donation to my efforts (link above) over $50 will enter you to win a Sticky Fingers Sweets & Eats Cookie and Brownie Box (they ship!).
Why support Phoenix Bikes? Because they:
- Teach bike mechanics and life skills to youth
- Provide mentorship and a welcoming space for teens from diverse backgrounds
- Get more people rolling, regardless of income or experience
Why join Raise + Ride?
- Choose your own route and distance (9 to 100 miles)
- Ride in person on August 2 or choose the virtual option
- Enjoy rest stops, giveaways, and earn great swag like caps, Ridge Supply socks…and even a party shirt!
- Meet some of the amazing Phoenix youth your support benefits
- Be part of a ride that celebrates bikes, community, and purpose
Thanks for riding with me on this one!
MJ
