New Year’s Day Trail Excursion

Tomorrow, I’m planning to kick off freezing saddles and the new year with a moderate pace excursion that features lots of great bike trails in DC, Prince George’s County, Montgomery County, and Arlington.

Total distance about 73 miles, leaving the bike shop at 9am. Moderate pacing, probably 13-15mph on the flats.

Note, most places will be closed tomorrow, so it’s important to bring lots of food and drinks for the ride — pack your pannier or backpack!

Please feel free to join us along the way, or ride out to the start and make it a full New Year’s century! (Pro tip — way more interesting than Hains Point laps…)

PS. Millie’s leading a shorter (probably 30-40 mile), slower (probably 10-12mph) ride to DC, probably doing the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail loop, leaving at 11am and returning at 3pm or so.
