New topics appear to only be “reply to”s without content. WHY?

The three most recent entries I have seen in the forum require one to be logged in since they claim to require reply. When logged it, that is all they are. There is no content. Is this a new feature? Are submitters somehow “tricked” into making them reply only. I will say that this forum has become mostly useless since the switch to the newer format. If this inabality to actually post anything is a “feature” then the forum has little purpose other than the historical posts…
