Participants ride and take photos of something each day, which in recent years has been based on that day’s Wordle word. Here is a link to last year’s competition: https://www.bikearlingtonforum.com/forums/topic/2025-photo-scavenger-hunt/
As sponsor, you’d check the photos submitted each day to see which photos you like. You give them points based on whatever catches your fancy, which could be anything from no points for anyone that day, to one point for several of the people, to maybe two points for an especially memorable entry. The last ten days of the competition, traditionally only one person has gotten points each day, but it’s been one point the first day, two the second, and so forth up to ten on the last day. Here is a link to the spreadsheet showing the points for the past two years: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1eaqadtiSwKlWYHUox3yrEexTudfUls2c/htmlview#gid=750225258
In the past, it’s been announced each week who got points for which days that week. At the end, whoever has the most points wins. You can give whatever prize you want, which could be as little as a certificate; people play mostly for the fun of it.
However, the rule for all the Pointless Prizes is that the sponsor’s word is final on what the rules are and how the competition is scored. So if you decided to do something like this but have different rules, a different way of choosing the day’s word, a different point system, or whatever, it would be entirely up to you.
