    Hello everyone,

I’m still trying to understand how freezing saddles registration works or how to join a team. I love riding around the DC area, and this year, I’ve logged over 10,000 miles, with more than 8,000 miles being outdoors. My favorite part about winter riding is that once I’ve covered a few miles, my body warms up, and I can enjoy the cold air. I love riding hills and for winter weather that is the perfect way to feel warm outside!

    Hi everyone!

I’d like to join freezing saddles. I ride a bike most days, but most rides are generally short (6-8 miles) before work. In the warmer months, I occasionally participate in 626 rides and do longer rides.

I am finding registration challenging.   I look forward to the rides.

My first year doing Freezing Saddles.  Made it out this morning – 11 miles, 28 degrees a little windy.  Looking for advice on h ow to keep my fingers warm.  Everything else was managable.

Howdy! I was told about Freezing Saddles but forgot to sign up by Dec 24  😥

I’m gonna go through the sign up in the hopes I can start logging rides with people.  😀

    Happy New Year!

Hi! Freezing Saddles novice here. I initially thought I was all signed up by registering for it in mid-December via Strava. I have since figured out that’s only one step! I think I’m good and all registered now…

I guess I am new and a returning member of freezing saddles. Last time I participated it was from afar (Guangzhou, China) and was quite and ordeal.  I am a DMV local and my job has finally brought me back to the area.

For riding, I would call myself a mountain biker but also like to ride road and gravel.  I commute by bike quite a bit, well at least in the past. I plan on using freezing saddles to restart bike commuting as it is my perferred way to commute.

I also run a small time YouTube channel that is bike related.  Just search up my handle “Mongo Dan” to find me.  Also always open to suggestions for video ideas and would like to make a few freezing saddles related ones if the community doesn’t mind.

Best way to keep your hands warm (assuming you have decent gloves) is to keep your arms and core warm.  If your fingers or toes are getting cold, it is probably because your need to keep your arms or legs warmer.
