The parking garage at The Waycroft, 750 N. Glebe Rd, Ballston, Arlington. Where Silver Diner relocated from Clarendon. 4, count ’em, *4* cargo bike parking spaces on level P1.

But after the initial rush, I started thinking, “How is a cargo bike going to get in & out of here?” The elevators don’t have enough room, and the ramps are tight and *steep*, even by downtown parking garage standards. I have yet to look at the gates for adequate pass-through room.

Those of you with cargo bikes, let us know if you can even access these spaces!

We parked down there during a function at the Waycroft and one of us was on a cargo bike. It actually did fit in the elevator along with my gravel bike.

Thank you for bringing attention to the issue of cargo bike accessibility at the parking garage at The Waycroft. It’s great to see that they have designated 4 cargo bike parking spaces, but as you pointed out, the question remains about the practicality of actually getting a cargo bike in and out of the garage. The tight and steep ramps, as well as the limited room in the elevators, are definitely concerns.

I would recommend checking the dimensions of your cargo bike and measuring the width and height of the elevator and the ramp to see if it will fit. If it does, then you might be able to use these designated spaces. However, if not, it’s important to bring this issue to the attention of the management at The Waycroft and see if they can come up with a solution to improve cargo bike accessibility.

I would also suggest reaching out to other cargo bike riders in the community, to see if they have had similar experiences. It would be great to know if other cargo bike riders have been able to access these spaces or not.

Keep us updated on what you find out and if you are able to access these spaces.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
