68 degrees!

    Wow, yesterday was amazing on two fronts: the warm weather and the number of cyclists that were out and about. I’ve never seen so many cyclists on the trails and roads even when compared to the nicest spring/fall days. I wouldn’t be surprised if we broke some records. :D

    I saw some CaBi cyclists who huffed and puffed all the way up the CCT to Bethesda.

    Turns out the warm weather record for Jan 7 was set in 1907 at 76 degrees.

    Ya it was amazing. Friday I rode to work in winter gear and rode home in shorts. The ride home was like a spring day with peds on the CCT in Bethesda. Usually it is deserted. Saturday my friends and I went for a hike around Great Falls on the Billy Goat Trail. The parking lot at great falls was packed and a line was up the road to get in by late afternoon.

    And a few days ago, it was snowing.

    I spent the morning shooting, and the afternoon in shorts and short sleeves cleaning my firearms in the garage with the door open and the tunes CRANKED. GORGEOUS weather!

    And it’s snowing right now.

    It was nice indeed, I took my daughter for her first bike ride. She cried :D

    Hopefully they were tears of pride.

    I cried when I saw the snow this afternoon. They were not tears of pride.

    I’ve been looking forward to some conditions where I can use my new Nokians, and for me snow is the only joy of winter, so I was happy as well!
