I got a late start this morning. I stayed up watching the TdF stage and relaxing with my wife and before I knew it it was midnight. That made the 0500 alarm particularly painful. I manned up and got myself going, but I was about 40 minutes later than usual at hitting the trail.

Traffic was jammed all the way from Falls Church to Rosslyn on the W&OD and Custis Trails. My bell-ringing thumb was really tired by the time I got to the office. I definitely have to work on a set-up that lets me ring ambidextrously.

I am not going to make that mistake again.

We certainly have seen a increase in morning activity with the high afternoon temperatures. Conversely, I hardly have to use my bell after getting off the Mt Vernon Trail in the evening.

I generally leave my house at 6:30am and the traffic is pretty busy by then. A couple of weeks ago I left a few minutes before 6am - wow what a difference that made! The traffic on the W&OD was down about 75%, I saw a TON of rabbits, and the street traffic was also way down. If I could just somehow do that every day, but then reality sets in... in the form of a snooze button.

Yeah, all of you people are nutz. I charge extra for making me roll over before 8:30.
