Serious thanks to the people who shaved off the bumps created by all the roots on the approach to Roosevelt Bridge. It was smooth and nice on the ride in. I'm guessing that was probably done by the Park Service. They did a lovely job.

Yep, the NPS. I *really* wish they'd let Arlington borrow that grinder for a few days. I recently rode the length of the Custis for the first time in a long time (I prefer streets) this weekend, and man, what a mess of bumps.

I need that mess of bumps on the custis. They wake me up before the S of Certain Death. Without them, some west-bound commuter would find me leaning up against the "God Loves Fat People" graffiti, snoring up a storm.
